Print from the tools you already design in
Switching to Adobe InDesign for print means building your designs twice. Printability brings print production into the tools designers already use, starting with Figma, so there’s only one version of each design to keep up to date.

Real CMYK, bleed, and crop marks
Figma’s native PDF export is RGB only and has no bleed or crop mark support. Print for Figma converts colors to CMYK using ICC profiles, extends artwork into the bleed, and adds trim marks, which is what commercial printers expect.

Exported files are verified against industry preflight checks, like those in Adobe Acrobat, so they hold up at the print shop. Features are never hacked together just to check a box: if something can’t be done to proper PDF standards, it doesn’t ship.

The team behind Printability
Printability started in 2019, when Ben built Print for Figma while studying computer science at Simon Fraser University. He was a print designer who liked working in Figma but kept hitting the same wall: Figma had no way to produce files a printer would accept.
Before that, Ben spent over a decade in graphic design and print production, including work as a publishing assistant designing book interiors, covers, and packaging. That prepress and color management background is what the products are built on.

How Printability works
Individuals can start for free by installing Print for Figma from the Figma Community. Upgrading to Pro happens inside the plugin through Figma’s own checkout, so there’s no separate account to create.

Teams onboarding
Onboarding is fully self-serve and usually takes a few minutes:
- Install Print for Figma TEAMS from the Figma Community.
- An admin buys seats on printability.app.
- The admin copies the team’s license key from the Printability dashboard and shares it.
- Each teammate clicks Get Pro in the plugin, pastes the key, and clicks Activate Pro.
