Benjamin Katz is the founder of Printability, a company dedicated to building tools, plug-ins, and resources that make professional print design more accessible. Ben brings over a decade of experience in graphic design, web design, and print production, with deep expertise in publishing, design, color management, and pre-press workflows.
In 2019, while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science at Simon Fraser University, Ben created Print for Figma, the first plugin to bring print design capabilities to the Figma platform. Since its launch, Print for Figma has grown to serve nearly 250,000 users, including teams at companies such as Tesla, Square, Instacart, and Yubico, as well as thousands of design agencies worldwide.
Ben’s work is driven by a core conviction: print design should be accessible to everyone. The print industry is incredibly complex, spanning color science, chemistry, engineering, and topics that even professional print service providers struggle to navigate. Having spent years learning these systems firsthand, Ben founded Printability to bridge that gap, giving designers the knowledge and tools they need to bring digital work into the physical world with confidence. He is a member of the Printing United Alliance and is based in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
