Printability

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: February 16, 2026

1. ABOUT

Printability ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information when you use our Services.

Our Services include:

  • Printability (printability.app) — our web platform for managing accounts, organizations, subscriptions, and print design tools
  • Print for Figma — our Figma plugin for print-ready design exports
  • Print for Figma Teams — our team-based Figma plugin with shared licensing and organization management

2. SCOPE

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information processed by us in connection with our Services, including our websites, web applications, and Figma plugins. It does not apply to third-party websites, services, or applications, even if they are accessible through our Services.

3. PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

The personal information we collect depends on how you interact with our Services.

Information You Provide to Us

Account Information. When you create a Printability account, we collect your name, email address, and password. If you authenticate through a third-party provider such as Google, we receive basic profile information from that provider (such as your name and email address).

Organization Information. If you create or join an organization, we collect the organization name, logo, and optional details such as company size and industry. We also collect the email addresses and roles of team members you invite.

Payment Information. We use third-party payment processors to handle transactions. For Printability subscriptions and Print for Figma Teams, payments are processed by Stripe. For Print for Figma, payments are processed through Figma's payment system. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. We may receive and store limited billing metadata associated with your payment (such as payment method type, last four digits, subscription status, and billing period). See Stripe's Privacy Policy and Figma's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your payment information.

Customer Content. When you use cloud processing features in Print for Figma or Print for Figma Teams — such as CMYK color conversion, color mapping, or downsampling — your exported PDF files are temporarily uploaded to our servers to facilitate processing. These files are encrypted at rest, accessible only through time-limited signed URLs, and automatically deleted within 24 hours. Exports that do not require cloud processing (such as standard RGB exports) are handled entirely within Figma and are never sent to our servers.

Profile Content. User avatars and organization logos uploaded through the Printability web application are stored on our servers and retained for as long as your account or organization remains active.

Information Collected Automatically

Technical Data. When you use our Services, we may automatically collect certain information, including your IP address, browser type, device information, and user agent string. When activating plugin licenses, we collect IP addresses and device information for the purposes of license management and abuse prevention.

Usage Data. We use analytics services to collect anonymized and pseudonymous data about how you interact with our Services, such as feature usage, page views, and general interaction patterns. This data does not include your name, email address, or other directly identifying contact information. Within our Figma plugins, analytics are collected using in-memory storage only — no persistent cookies are set by the plugin.

Cookies and Local Storage. We use cookies and similar technologies for session management (secure, HTTP-only authentication cookies), to remember your preferences (such as login method, retained for up to 30 days), and for analytics purposes. Within the Figma plugins, we use Figma's local storage to save your presets, preferences, and authentication credentials. This data remains on your device within Figma's environment.

4. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use your personal information for the following purposes:

To Provide the Services. We use your information to create and manage your account, authenticate your identity, process file exports and cloud-based PDF processing, manage organization memberships and subscriptions, and deliver transactional communications such as verification codes and password resets.

To Improve the Services. We analyze anonymous usage patterns and platform performance to identify issues, optimize features, and improve reliability.

To Communicate With You. We use your contact information to send account-related notifications, service updates, and to respond to support inquiries.

5. DISCLOSING YOUR INFORMATION TO THIRD PARTIES

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose personal information to the following categories of third parties:

Service Providers. We disclose personal information to service providers that assist us in operating the Services, including providers of: (i) cloud infrastructure and file storage; (ii) payment processing; (iii) database hosting; (iv) transactional email delivery; (v) analytics; (vi) website hosting; and (vii) authentication services. These service providers are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide services to us.

Platform Partners. Our Figma plugins operate within the Figma platform. In connection with plugin authentication and payment validation, we may exchange information with Figma. See Figma's Privacy Policy for details.

Legal and Compliance. We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to: (i) comply with a legal obligation or valid legal process; (ii) protect and defend our rights or property; (iii) respond to lawful requests from public authorities; or (iv) prevent fraud or protect the safety of our users.

Business Transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.

6. DATA RETENTION

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, provide our Services, and comply with our legal obligations.

  • Cloud-processed files are automatically deleted within 24 hours of upload.
  • Account and organization data are retained while your account or organization is active, and deleted upon account closure.
  • Profile images (avatars and logos) are retained while the associated account or organization is active.
  • Billing records are retained as required for accounting, tax, and legal compliance.
  • Analytics data is retained in aggregated or pseudonymous form.
  • Plugin preferences and presets are stored locally within Figma and are not retained on our servers.

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize it.

7. SECURITY

We take steps to ensure that your information is treated securely, including encryption of data at rest and in transit, cryptographic hashing of passwords and credentials, time-limited access controls for file downloads, and role-based access controls that restrict data access to authorized users.

While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information
  • Delete your account and associated personal data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
  • Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us as set forth below. We will process requests in accordance with applicable law and may take steps to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.

9. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child, we will promptly take steps to delete such information.

10. THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES AND SERVICES

Our Services may contain links to third-party websites, services, or applications. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through our Services.

11. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated policy and revising the "Effective Date" at the top of this page.
