Printability

For workflows that rely on specific, non-standard dimensions or repetitive structural setups, Print for Figma Pro allows you to save and manage Custom Presets.

Captured Settings

When you save a Custom Preset, the plugin captures the entire configuration of the Create tab. This ensures perfect structural consistency across multiple files and projects without having to memorize complex margin arrays or bleed specifications.

A saved Custom Preset includes:

  • Dimensions & Units: Width, Height, and the chosen unit (inches or millimeters).
  • Margins: Top, Bottom, Left, and Right safe zone values, including whether the fields are linked or unlinked.
  • Bleed Specifications: Top, Bottom, Left, and Right bleed values.
  • Bleed Mode: The selection between Expand or Contain mode.
  • Crop Marks: Whether crop marks are enabled, along with their specific line weight, offset, and length configurations.

Note: Page count is not saved in a preset. It will always default to 1 when a preset is loaded.

Saving a Custom Preset

  1. In the Create tab, configure your layout exactly as needed, ensuring dimensions, margins, and bleed are set.
  2. Click the Save button located next to the Create button.
  3. In the modal prompt, enter a descriptive, easily identifiable name (e.g., "Corporate Brochure w/ 3mm Bleed" or "Square Sticker 4x4").
  4. Click Save Preset.

Managing Custom Presets

Saved presets are stored under the Custom category at the bottom of the preset sidebar.

  • Loading: Click the name of the preset to instantly overwrite your current settings with the saved configuration.
  • Updating: Load the preset, make the necessary numerical adjustments, click Save, and enter the exact same name to overwrite the old preset.
  • Deleting: Select the preset in the sidebar. The main Save button will change to a Delete button. Click it to permanently remove the preset from your account.

Custom presets are synchronized to your Figma user account and will be accessible across all files and devices where you are logged in.
