Standard Presets
Print for Figma includes a comprehensive library of standard paper sizes to eliminate manual dimension calculations. Selecting a preset automatically configures the exact physical dimensions and applies the correct unit of measurement (inches or millimeters).
Preset Categories
The Create tab organizes presets into logical groups on the sidebar.
Popular
This category surfaces the two most universally utilized formats for quick access:
- US Letter: 8.5 × 11 inches
- A4: 210 × 297 millimeters
ANSI (US)
These formats conform to the American National Standards Institute specifications, widely used in North America.
- Letter: 8.5 × 11 inches (standard documents)
- Half Letter: 5.5 × 8.5 inches (booklets, small flyers)
- Legal: 8.5 × 14 inches (contracts, legal forms)
- Ledger / Tabloid: 11 × 17 inches (small posters, architectural prints)
International (ISO 216)
These formats follow the A-series standard used globally outside of North America. They maintain a strict 1:√2 aspect ratio, allowing designs to scale up or down to different A-sizes without altering layout proportions.
- A1: 594 × 841 mm (large posters)
- A2: 420 × 594 mm (medium posters)
- A3: 297 × 420 mm (tabloid-equivalent)
- A4: 210 × 297 mm (standard documents)
- A5: 148 × 210 mm (flyers, small booklets)
- A6: 105 × 148 mm (postcards)
Miscellaneous
This category contains standard sizing for common print collateral that does not fall strictly into ANSI or ISO document specifications.
- Business Card: 3.5 × 2 inches (Standard US size)
- Postcard: 7 × 5 inches
- Poster: 24 × 36 inches (Large format signage)
For detailed measurements, pixel dimensions at various DPI settings, and bleed specifications for each format, see the Paper Sizes reference guide.
Using Presets
When you select a preset, the plugin automatically overwrites the current Width and Height inputs. Note that standard presets dictate the page size only; they do not automatically apply margins or bleed. You must configure safe margins and bleed requirements manually based on your specific layout needs.
