Page Layout
The Layout section in the Create tab is the foundation of your print document, controlling the physical dimensions, orientation, and multi-page frame generation.
Dimension Controls
Input your required final trim size into the Width and Height fields.
Figma translates these physical measurements into canvas pixels using a strict ratio of 72 Pixels Per Inch (PPI). When you use Print for Figma to configure layout dimensions, the plugin handles this math accurately in the background to ensure your exported PDF precisely matches your intended physical size.
- Inches (
in): Values allow increments of 0.01 inches. (e.g., an input of8.5converts to exactly612pixels). - Millimeters (
mm): Uses the conversion formula(mm × 72) / 25.4. The plugin calculates metric sizes to sub-pixel accuracy. (e.g., an input of210mm results in a width of precisely595.28pixels).
If you switch units via the dropdown menu, the plugin will automatically convert your current inputs (e.g., converting 8.5 inches into 215.9 mm).
Orientation
Click the rotate button (↻) situated next to the Layout header to instantly swap the Width and Height values. This allows you to quickly toggle a preset format (like a standard US Letter) between Portrait (8.5 × 11) and Landscape (11 × 8.5) orientations without manually retyping the values.
Multi-Page Generation
The Pages numeric input determines how many individual Figma frames the plugin will construct on your canvas.
Setting the value to 1 creates a single artboard. Setting the value to a higher number (e.g., 4 for a standard booklet layout) generates four identical, evenly spaced frames horizontally across your canvas.
Each generated frame inherits identical dimensions, margins, and bleed settings. To assist with organization and downstream PDF page ordering, the plugin sequentially names the generated frames (e.g., "Letter 1", "Letter 2", "Letter 3").
