Frequently Asked Questions
Why are there two separate Figma plugins?
Print for Figma and Print for Figma TEAMS are published as separate plugins on the Figma Community because they use different billing systems. The standard Print for Figma plugin processes payments through Figma's built-in payment infrastructure, which is designed for individual users. Print for Figma TEAMS handles billing through printability.app, which supports multi-seat licenses and centralized team administration. Both plugins offer identical design and export functionality once activated.
Do both plugins have a free tier?
Yes. Both Print for Figma and Print for Figma TEAMS include a Starter tier that lets you create up to 5 documents per week with bleed and crop marks at no cost. However, PDF exporting requires a paid plan on either plugin. If you attempt to export without a paid license, the plugin will prompt you to upgrade.
How do I choose between Pro and Teams?
If you are a single user and do not need to manage licenses for other people, Pro is the simplest option—billing is handled entirely through Figma, and there is nothing to manage on printability.app. If you need to provide access to multiple team members under a single billing account, or if you want premium support and early access to new features, choose Teams.
Troubleshooting Activation
If you have purchased Pro or entered a valid Teams key but the features remain locked:
- Ensure you are logged into the correct Figma account.
- Close and reopen the plugin to force a background token refresh.
- If migrating from an older beta version in Teams mode, you may be prompted to update your license key to the current system.
