Sticker with Bleed
Die-cut stickers typically use 0.0625 inches (1/16 in) of bleed — smaller than the standard 0.125 in used for paper products, because the cut path follows the sticker shape precisely.
| Sticker | Trim Size | With Bleed | Pixels at 300 DPI |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 in circle | 2 in diameter | 2.125 in diameter | 638 × 638 |
| 3 in circle | 3 in diameter | 3.125 in diameter | 938 × 938 |
| 3 × 4 rectangle | 3 × 4 in | 3.125 × 4.125 in | 938 × 1238 |

Design Tips
- Design your artwork at the sticker shape (circle, rounded rectangle, or custom die-cut path). Extend all background elements past the cut line into the bleed area.
- For die-cut stickers, provide a cut path as a separate vector layer (usually a clean, closed path with rounded corners for durability).
- Use CMYK color mode for commercial offset or digital printing. RGB is acceptable for consumer inkjet sticker printers.
- At small sizes, simplify your design — fine details and small text can be lost. Minimum recommended text size is 6 pt for stickers under 3 inches.
- For resolution guidelines and bleed setup, see our detailed guides.
How to Design Stickers
Stickers are usually designed in Adobe Illustrator (for vector die-cut paths) or Photoshop (for photographic designs). Create your artwork at the final sticker size, extend the design past the cut line for bleed, and provide a separate vector cut path if using custom die-cut shapes. Export at 300 DPI minimum for crisp edges.
For a browser-based alternative, Figma with the Print for Figma plugin lets you design stickers at any custom size. Design your artwork, set up bleed past the trim edge, and export a print-ready CMYK PDF. For die-cut stickers, you'll still need to provide the cut path separately to your printer.
