US Standard Paper Sizes
The United States and Canada use their own paper size system rather than the ISO 216 standard. These sizes are defined by ANSI (American National Standards Institute) and are based on inch measurements. Letter size (8.5 × 11 inches) is the most common, functioning as the everyday document standard in North America.
Unlike the A series, US paper sizes do not follow a consistent aspect ratio between sizes, so content does not scale cleanly from one size to another.
